Woah, what a photography session! The Greentree family made me feel right at home as the kids were just like my own – especially once they were over it!
The photography session was done on their family farm out at Freeman’s Reach and what a great location it was. It had it all – orchards, tractors, open spaces, some great fence lines, nappyless baby… Even a bull. ‘Don’t worry, he’s all good’ dad said – cut to the first photo being taken and then us making a run for the closest gate because said bull was bucking towards us.
I’d like to say I played it cool, but I ran like… Well like I was being chased by a bull.
Side note – In a bizarre coincidence I discovered that our families know of each other, the kids’ grandad used to be a milkman for the dairy my family ran out that way back in the day. Small world.
Madeline loved the camera and was more than happy to strike a pose.
Tom was cheeky in all the right ways and gave me the meanest, highest pitched dino roar I’ve ever heard in my life. I’m sure there were dogs howling right across Sydney to the sound. Will was unsure of me at first but it didn’t take long to win him over once he saw big bro and sis getting in to it.
In the orchard Madeline had the awesome idea to squeeze oranges … wouldn’t really be a Barley Monks session without a bit of mess!
All in all it was a great session at a fantastic location. By the end Madeline was missing a shoe, Will was minus a nappy and Mum and Dad were still sane. I’d call that a win.
I’ll leave you with a new joke I learnt courtesy of 5 year old Tom. While standing in the orchard Tom asks me, ‘why did the orange cross the road? …… Because it ran out of juice! Ha! He ran out of juice… because he’s an orange… ahhhh.
Add it to your joke list people!
